The Printing Bike was inspired by the idea of a Journeyman, a trained worker who, after finishing an apprenticeship, took to the road to look for work; in particular the knife grinders who travelled from town to town sharpening folk's knives.

The design started life on a paper napkin in Small Street Espresso drawn by Robin Mather, who built the bike in his workshop in Centrespace.

The bike carries an 8x5 Adana Press. Type, blocks, inks and rags are all carried on the front in bespoke bags made by Purple Patch.
